June 2008

INSP’s 13th Annual Conference 2008: ‘Speaking from the Ground Up: Street Papers Challenging Global Perspectives on Poverty’ was held in Glasgow, Scotland - INSP’s global headquarters.

This year’s event also featured the first-ever ‘International Street Paper Awards,’ celebrating the   fantastic work of INSP publications from around the world. It took take place at the prestigious Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow. See the Conference Report for details of the winners.

June 2008

INSP has established a German-speaking platform within the network to respond to street paper questions, media enquiries and regional projects in German. For more information on the project and for details of the new associate members click here.

August 2007

The latest African INSP street paper is launched with INSP's support and with funding from The Scottish Executive International Development Fund. 'The Big Issue Zambia' in Lusaka, will support hundreds of homeless people in the city.

July 2007

Inter Press Service’ supports the development of INSP's independent news service project, 'The Street News Service’.

Peter Dhondt, Co-ordinator of Inter Press Service in Brussels talks about the new partnership: "Inter Press Service is about communication for development, and we think INSP is an ideal partner for that. We are happy to be able to support this great initiative while at the same time reaching a global audience of readers that shows concern for issues we deeply care about as well."
