INSPired Together: Global Street Paper Summit
“Our diversity is our strength, and that what we have in common trumps our differences… we are all in this together, learning from each other, healing a broken world, one vendor and one newspaper at a time.”
– Tim Harris, Founder of Real Change
In 2015, INSP partners with Seattle’s Real Change for our first ever conference in the USA. Street paper innovators from all over the world will congregate to share success stories and plan for the future.
Following on from INSP’s successful 20th anniversary conference in Glasgow last August, the 2015 event will feature more sessions than ever before. Parallel programmes focusing on strategy & business development; editorial & design; fundraising & marketing; and vendors, support and homelessness will allow each delegate to maximise their conference experience.
Last year, for the first time, we organised a unique evening event which connected our international delegates with Scotland’s social entrepreneurs, business leaders and academics, to discuss and debate solutions to poverty and inequality.
The INSP Awards return in 2015, recognising the top scoops, interviews, design and photography in our member street papers, and celebrating the innovative projects run by street paper organisations to support their vendors. Entries for the editorial awards will be sourced from the INSP News Service. Starting this year, the INSP Awards will be an annual event – giving us lots more opportunity to applaud and promote our unique network.
Registration for the event is now open. For more information, email us.

Hosted in a different city each year in partnership with the local street paper, our international conference is a highlight of the street paper calendar. It is the only forum where street paper staff can meet with colleagues from around the world to learn from each other, share experience and form partnerships. It has been the backdrop of many innovations, including the Homeless World Cup, which started after a meeting at the 2001 Cape Town conference.
For many street papers operating in isolation with limited resources, the conference provides them with vital inspiration, motivation, ideas and support. The conference also allows INSP the opportunity to gather information from our members and work on network-wide projects.
As many street papers have limited resources, we also work hard to raise funds to support travel bursaries and secure pro bono support, sponsorship and discounts to ensure the delegate fee is affordable to our members in 35 different countries. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please email us.
